Cleaning Experts Toronto (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a home and office cleaning company serving Scarborough, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through cleaningexpertstoronto.ca and when you book a clean, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

We handle your information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote, book, and carry out your clean. When you fill in a form on this website or email us, that can include:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • The address of the home or office to be cleaned, including neighbourhood and postal code
  • Details about the job: the service you want, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, square footage, add-ons, how often, and your preferred date and time
  • Access details you choose to give us, such as where to park, whether you will be home, and any lockbox or access code
  • Whether you have pets, and any other notes you add
  • The messages you send us

Each form submission also records the date and time, the page it was sent from, your IP address, and your browser type. This helps us stop spam and fix problems.

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you, when you request a quote, send a message through the contact form, sign up for our newsletter, or email us. We do not buy contact lists or collect information about you from other companies.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Prepare your quote and reply to your questions
  • Schedule your clean and send you messages about it
  • Get into your home the way you asked us to, and follow your instructions once inside
  • Send our newsletter, only if you signed up for it
  • Keep the records that Canadian tax and business law require
  • Protect this website from spam and misuse

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Access codes and entry details

If you give us a lockbox code, an access code, or other entry details, we use them only for the clean you booked. They are shared only with the cleaner assigned to your home.

Cookies and third-party tools

This website uses the cookies needed for the site to load quickly and for forms to work.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website, for example which pages are viewed and for how long. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device type, browser, and approximate location. We see this as combined statistics, not as a record of what you personally did. We do not use advertising trackers.

Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and show a map from Google Maps. When your browser loads those, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. Google handles all of this information under its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics.

Who we share it with

We share your information only where it is needed to serve you:

  • The cleaner assigned to your home gets your name, address, entry details, and notes
  • The companies that host this website and run our email store the messages and form submissions you send us
  • Google, which provides the analytics, fonts, and map described above

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a Canadian authority. We do not share your details with advertisers or marketers.

Where it is stored and how we protect it

Your information is stored with our website hosting and email providers. Their servers may be located outside Canada, which means the information can be subject to the laws of the country where it is held.

We limit access to the people who need it to do their job and we use password-protected systems. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires. Entry details such as access codes are removed once they are no longer needed for your bookings.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your information, where the law does not require us to keep it
  • Stop using your information, by withdrawing your consent
  • Take you off our newsletter

To do any of these, email hello@cleaningexpertstoronto.ca. We reply to privacy requests within 30 days.

Making a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your information, email hello@cleaningexpertstoronto.ca and tell us what happened. We will look into it and reply.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
